This week I read a great book about a gay romance. Extremely well written, great characters (teenagers), sex scenes that are just right (not too graphic) - overall a superb story.
Here's a brief summary:
The hot Texas nights were lonely for Ben before his heart began beating to the rhythm of two words; Tim Wyman. By all appearances, Tim had the perfect body and ideal life, but when a not-so-accidental collision brings them together, Ben discovers that the truth is rarely so simple. If winning Tim's heart was an impossible quest, keeping it would prove even harder as family, society, and emotion threaten to tear them apart.
Something Like Summer is a love story spanning a decade and beyond as two boys discover what it means to be friends, lovers, and sometimes even enemies.
I also highly recomment the next in the series called "Something Like Winter" which basically tells a similar story from Tim Wyman's point of view and then continues on where "Something Like Summer" left off.

The Boy with Blue Hair.... The boy with blue hair can look at the night sky and be amazed from dusk to dawn. He thinks about how perfect every single little detail has to be in order for everything to work just right. He thinks about the Big Bang and how all of the smallest of particles end up as Gigantic Planets or a possible life giving Sun. He thinks that we are at the perfect place in time and how crazy it is to think we could all loose our tomorrow in the blink of an eye. He also thinks about how lucky we are to have Jupiter, sure you can see it in the night sky but do you understand it's importance? Without Jupitar, we would not be here. Without Earth churning away with its molten iron core we would not be here. The moon keeps our home from wobbling out of control, and everything is just so perfect. It takes billons of years to get life to even start and billions of years for life to finally get it right, life is still working on that part as we speak. It takes love, for two people to meet and to have a child from this love and how lucky the Boy with Blue Hair feels just thinking of that. The boy with Blue Hair got his hair from a decision he made for himself to do something out of the ordinary, to live a little, to do something crazy for once, to show the world he did not care what other's may think of him, to celebrate life and to try to spread some love and happiness to others. The Boy with Blue Hair was called a faggot today by a man more than twice his age and this same man forbids his son of any and all further contact. The Boy with Blue Hair is crushed and wishes he had never woke that morning, the day he dyed his hair so Beautifully Blue.

It is funny because I know for a fact this is how most Amish Mothers would act because up till about 2 years ago I was Amish. Long story short Amish Communities do not let Gay Amish boys stay around.
