(Journal of Discourses, vol. 10). Since blacks were a stigmatized race in Mormonism, black men were denied ordination to the priesthood in the LDS Church. While the LDS Church, under pressure, finally granted black men the priesthood in 1978, the racism in their Scriptures remains as offensive as ever. This week I read a great book about a gay romance.  Extremely well written, great characters (teenagers), sex scenes that are just right (not too graphic) - overall a superb story. 

Here's a brief summary:
The hot Texas nights were lonely for Ben before his heart began beating to the rhythm of two words; Tim Wyman. By all appearances, Tim had the perfect body and ideal life, but when a not-so-accidental collision brings them together, Ben discovers that the truth is rarely so simple. Something Like Summer is a love story spanning a decade and beyond as two boys discover what it means to be friends, lovers, and sometimes even enemies.

I also highly recommend the next book in the series called "Something Like Winter" which basically tells a similar story from Tim Wyman's point of view and then continues on where "Something Like Summer" left off.

As Andy has been in Hospital and has been through alot recently I wanted to welcome him back..A long time member and an old friend ????????????
