Again we see this idea of hospitality, especially where it concerns travelers. In an area where the climate was often harsh and any kind of long distance travel was difficult, it was important that those who braved the elements between villages were able to find aid. It should be noted, however, that this was expected to be a reciprocal relationship. Where the homeowners would be expected to provide warmth and food, the traveler was expected to share news from abroad. In an age before even the most basic communications network (even something as simple as a postal service, much less modern communications technology) this was the only way that most people had of learning what was going on in the world around them!

Since I've moved out on my own...me and my roommate cannot afford Cable/Satellite. We watch a lot of OTA TV and noticed all the great actors on these old shows on MeTV, Antenna TV, etc.We noticed how there were so many great actors that aren't good looking, but were great at their craft. Many went on to make great movies! I don't think now they would make a TV show today if you're not a pretty boy (or girl I guess).
I think what I'm saying is...how many great actors are overlooked because they are not all perfect looking? Looking at these old shows...there are many actors that are just plain or not good-looking at all!

There seems to be a new member scam with people joining. They all have USA after the city they are from and are 18-22 y/o. They have an avatar but no favorites and tell you to go to another site to see their pics and videos where you will probably get a virus or malware. It looks like about 10 of them joined Saturday and over 100 joined on Monday. Some of these sites they take u to required u to sign up to enter and give a credit card #.
