Thoughts Fears Dreams
Jim Ferringer is an American artist and photographer. For him, his art 'promises to delay or deny our mortality, magically freezing a moment in time....My work takes that moment and peels back the curtain, exposing thoughts, fears and dreams.' He takes his themes from classical antiquity, religion (his popes are less violent but just as disturbing as Francis Bacon's) and surrealist sources.
I find his work fascinating technically...he uses traditional painting mediums as well as digital processes...and emotionally challenging, presenting, as it does, 'the underlying wonder and variety of the male figure.'

Fairies weave their garments.
Out of the purple and rose of old memories
They make rainbow wings.
No wonder we find them such marvelous things!
