The Photography of Vic Bakin (b1984), raised in W.Ukraine and now working in Kyiv. He is drawn to 'closed communities' and has documented the queer and fashion scene, rave and music culture as well as student rooms. Presently his focus is on the current war, a project he calls 'Epitome'.
'For as long as I can remember,' he says, ' I've always tried to grasp at fleeting moments in time.'
I am indebted to Dickzucker2 for alerting me to the work of Vic Bakin with his own album, 'Ukrainian Gay Art' (see p3 of his albums) With one or two exceptions all the images I have chosen are different, so I hope my album will be seen as genuinely complementary to his.
