The Photography of Ryan McGinley (b1977)...born in New Jersey, he lives in NY. From an early age he took Polaroid pictures of his friends, 'the skateboarders, graffiti artists and gay people' of his peer group, celebrating the hedonism and liberation of the times. He would go on road trips, taking his models to 'remote and beautiful locations....getting that intimacy.' He was also into music, helping to form the short-lived band, 'The Virgins' (2006-13). He said, 'I guess I get obsessed with people', especially young people who displayed 'evidence of fun'.
