My apologies for posting a two page story in a blog spot best suited to short vids and a few phrases. I just wanted to offer an opportunity to a new generation to look back to a time, over a hundred years ago, when European poets began to push back against the torrent of hatred and harm that confronted any man who was "perverted" enough to see beauty and love in another man. It was the time of Oscar Wilde and other poets and writers who had the courage to speak about "The love that dare not speak it's name". Without them, we would not have the freedom to hold our lover's hand, or kiss on a street corner, or parade to celebrate Pride. There was no pride...only shame. SirCumsalots had blog which was about thanking guys for posting videos/pics on GBT, asking others to share what they have as well.
He deleted the blog maybe because he didn't like the comments on there or didn't like notification keeps showing up.
Anyway, the first comment there was about people leaving negative ratings which could discourage people from posting videos, and I left some feedbacks on those.
Since the blog is gone, I'm making my own to post it again, and see how others think about it (also, I just came across some unexpected event that I felt need to pursue this).
I don't know if this issue has been discussed on GBT yet since I haven't been active member here but...here it goes.
First of all, I don't really think it's fair for those posting contents here to go through negativity in the first place, especially when it's likely that those negativities are coming from those that haven't uploaded any contents themselves.

I have 2 diffrent types of suggestions to deal with those problems (IMO, I prefer 1st one).
1. permission control over your contents
2. point system
The permission control is just like what's available on XTube and some other sites
having control over allowing/disallowing comments, ratings, and external sites to embed the video.
Also, you can remove comments on your content and your walls at your will.
On YouTube, you even have control over allowing specific comments can be posted or not.
Point system would be something like this.
You get points for succssfully uploading a video (let's say 1 min length/point or 10MB/point), and you need a point to be able to interact (or troll) with others.
For example, writing a comment (whether on someone's wall, blog, video, or picture) or rating a profile/video all requires a point, and of course, a person can't upload same video to gain a point.
That will force past non-contributors to post videos and become contributor themselves in order gain the point to interact with others, or just sit with 0 point and unable to troll any further.
The current system in GBT doesn't really allow such options to protect your contents and profile.
There are couple more problems here I've noticed.
1. You can block someone, but the person can still write a comment and rate your video (though it stops them from sending a PM and writing on your wall).Since the negative comments are likely to be coming from guys that have 0 content, they really don't have anything to lose.
2. You can downgrade a video, but you can't downgrade a profile. Again, the ones likely downgrading your video are likely the ones that haven't uploaded a single video, so only thing they can be rated for is their profile yet the system doesn't allow it. In the end, trolls win no matter what.
Privacy issue
The following is the reason I'm posting this blog.
Even if you block someone, they can still send you friend request with message on it.
Yesterday, I came across some really weird guy (no, not the annoying guy that left negative comments on my video), and...it just happened right after I accepted his friend request.
It was something very unusual, I have never came across anything like this until now, not just from a porn site but from any site/forum since the time I used internet.
At first, I thought I felt weird because it was difficult to interpret his message since he used all caps with bunch of broken links (so it shows up as mixed chracters and words), but the more I read it, each sentences weren't very coherent and the contents of the mssage itself were very disturbing (so was the detail on his profile).
More than anything, he didn't seem sane either.
I shared that to my friends, just told them I had difficulty interpreting what he was saying (in case I was being paranoid and overreacting), and when my friends saw them, their immediate response were "Yeah, seriously, block him and avoid", "Extreme is one thing, wack job crazy is another", "Don't risk that. Plenty of guys in Toronto.", "Possibly a war vet, but still crazy is crazy".
I'm not going to share here the contents of the messages or profile name for his privacy (more like because I don't know what he's gonna do if I do) but I really don't want to deal with this guy any further either.
More than anything, I don't feel safe to interact with this person, and this is the first time I ever felt like that on the internet.
I removed him from my friend list, blocked him yesterday.
Today, I noticed he's keep sending me friend request with messages on it.
I want him to stop, but it's not really easy to completely ignore him either.
I'm kinda afraid he might start to post threatning messages on my videos, which will be even more difficult to ignore.
I really like to see there's some option to have control over my contents and profile like I've mentioned above.
More than anything, I'd like to have some privacy control to truly block dangerous individuals from constantly harassing me, and I want to be able to do it with from few clicks on the site (I think it'd be better in that way for both parties) instead of contacting authorities every single time it happens and escalating the matter.

Otto Warmbier has died. I know it is not unexpected but damn it that shit pisses me off. That was unacceptable what that regime did to him.
