Just wanted to let you know I am doing Ok. The pain is much better, not gone but not like I want to die either now. My friend Stephen is taking excellent care of me. I dont think I would have made it without him (Literally). I go tomorrow to get a cast put on my foot and ankle, thats good because it looks so nasty! My toes and part of my leg are deep purple but the swelling has gone down. My ribs are not hurting so bad now but they are still black and blue also. I dont quite remember what happened... Just a loud snap then Stephen on top of the pile throwing 2x4s in every direction screaming for help. I swear it was like Superman coming to the rescue. Anyway, I'll check in tomorrow after I get my cast and let you know how it went, he says that It will hurt like crazy again because they will pull around on my foot so I might not be on tomorrow but I'll try. Collins is a transgender male whose health insurance does not cover his female-to-male top surgery which involves the removal of the breasts. He has paid for his hormone treatment himself. Now his his new fraternity brothers have stepped in to help raise money for the operation through a page on IndieGogo.com. 'We care deeply about each and everyone, and rely on the entire active brotherhood to stand behind any one individual when they are in need,' members state on the page. 'We as an organization are told from day one to use our resources. You may not know this gentleman like we do, and we might not even know you, but if it speaks to you then we want to present you with an opportunity to give.' Collins wants to have the surgery in May. He came out as transgender while a student at an all-girls boarding school in Windsor, Connecticut. He tells Out.com that he cried in gratitude when he found out what his fraternity brothers were doing for him. 'I was just like, ‘Oh that’s such a Tau thing to do,’ and I didn’t even think it was that weird,' Collins says. 'But then I started sending [the indiegogo link] out to people, and they were like, ‘Oh my god, that’s amazing! Thomas...Tolead...is to me one of the GBT contributors who I most treasure. He hasn't been online for 6 days and is perhaps taking some kind of break. I'm just hoping he's okay. I like Thomas because he humanises GBT for me. I like his intelligence, his incredible willingness to care about people way beyond just a superficial level, his great sense of humour, the amazing contribution he's made to this site, his proven commitment to the political and social gay issues that affect all of us, the way he doesn't just post any random message on your wall but makes it personal to you, that he's given you as a person some thought. I like the way he's as horny and erotic as the rest of us but has stood up and spoken on behalf of members for whom some GBT issues are problematic, but always with tact and fairness. You're awesome Thomas. You're a significant part of what kept me interested in this website, and willing to stay with it, for all its huge flaws. HUGS.
