i am amazed after 30 years these gates are still there - assuming i`ve got the location right but the details add up the stream the cottage garden steps gates road and valley utiliy pole .......
the point was i watched the vintage videos and 30 years later after they were filmed i found the cottage still existing in a slovakian valley and trying to hide its past ....
With the fall of communism in eastern europe in 1989 east germany was reunited with west germany whilst in czechoslovakia slovakia separated from the czech republic in 1993 - during this time gero gay video dusseldorf produced and distributed gay films made in the
former east germany between 1991 - 1996 by sebastian bleisch and by an unknown director in slovakia from 1993 - 1995/6 - both in a similar style
a clique of slovakian lads perhaps tempted by cash, a desire to escape the dull austerity of life under communism, an uncertain future and eager to explore new freedoms ? were recruited to perform in gay themed films - The plots were simple filmed in various locations in the Male Karpty mountain region of slovakia - to give the films a sense of realism - the lads meeting up in the local towns exploring ruins forests and swimming in reservoirs relaxing in youth hostel apartment cabin and in a cottage in a valley before gay sex (and some bi sex) adventures and romps begin
By 2000 the gay scene in czechia and slovakia had taken off it seems but these beginnings are interesting in some way
Vintage european videos from the 1990s are interesting - produced and distributed by german companies man`s best and gero videos dusseldorf vaguely labelled posted as vintage german dutch czech or slovak - but the ones that interest me are i think are from the former east germany and slovakia - both from different directors known and unknown but in similar styles - these feature cliches of lads filmed exploring towns villages landscapes lakes and ruins before engaging in gay and some bi romps - in some videos the buildings and landscapes do not seem to be german or dutch
I wanted to find some of these places - could i work out where these places were ? - well using the internet - google maps image searches wikipedia historical archives photo editing creating montages and even 3d mapping apps etc its possible to build a wider picture than is presented by just the video to locate unknown place - some locations and even the exact spots where the videos were taken from were easy to find others have taken much longer many many months of searching clues

this photo montage was made from various still images captured from the "slovakian boys " video combined to produce a single image to show the location and a more detailed image of the cottage then using filters and enhancemenst to produce a cleaner and clearer image
the same process was used here from the video "slovakian lads at the cottage" to produce two photo montages - notices the similarities in detail the cottage os the same one though this video unknown clip was taken some time later probably in the late 1990s
these next still images taken from the video "slovakian boys" and "junge boys und alte karren" (released in 1996) show the detail of the entrance gate - the similarity would seem to link the two videos to the same location the gates and utility pole would prove to be a major clue
the next process was a long shot guess work and luck - slovakia is a big country unknown to be so i had to make assumption - location near bratislava - making films in the 1990s would not be cheap - location wooded mountains so i guessed the male karpty - little carpathians mountainous region and a village or town on a main road through
using google maps pro street view and historical saterlite imagey i searched and searched for months untill i stumbled across this cottage -
