Are you familiar with the myth of Tiresias?
According to Greek mythology, Tiresias was a man for seven years and a woman for seven years, and through this experience, he gained unique knowledge about sex and desire.
This transformation allowed him to experience and understand both male and female pleasure, making him a symbol of sexual wisdom and empathy toward both sides of desire.
Zeus and Hera discuss a question that reflects an age-old dilemma: Which sex experiences greater pleasure during sexual intercourse: the man when penetrating or the woman when being penetrated?
In the myth, he was asked which sexual pleasure was greater: that of penetrating or that of being penetrated. His answer, according to tradition, was that the pleasure of being penetrated was more intense. Hera, enraged by the truth, blinds him; Zeus, in compensation, grants him the gift of prophecy and longevity, making him one of the wisest soothsayers in Greece.
And the myth proved more accurate than science.
Tiresias didn't preach morality or sanctimoniousness; his "prophecy" wasn't about wars or politics either. Like those tiresome prophets of countercultural movements who annoyed everyone with rigid moral rules, Tiresias didn't impose anything; he simply pointed out what he had seen and felt, leaving it up to each person to understand for themselves.
