Take up a step challenge, aim for 10k per day and increase your range from week to week. I'm 66 and walk 9 miles a day minimum. It has helped me overcome feelings of isolation, especially in covid lockdown and deal with a break up. Exercise my friend, whatever you like to do, skate, cycle, run or jog. It will save you!
Have you considered professional help like a therapist?
i am on 450 mg of wellbutrin and 40 mg of prozac--and its not helping plus i have a social anxiety disorder--meaning i hate public places and now this shit going on its even worse
What I find that helps me out is taking my dog for a walk. In my opinion there is nothing better than a dog who loves you just because. No matter how bad my day has been just the sight of my dog wagging her tail and licking my face when I get home makes even the worst day turn out to be the best day!
guess we are all feeling the stress and strain got to be greater if your younger and yearn for social interaction i find it harder to geat out of bed and feel motivated these days but hey routine is important try not to dull your pain with addictive stuff tho would reckon some here have done that to escape - i have dosent work - well youve addressed the problem got to be a start
Masturbation helps
Something else that may help, I dont get depressed these days but i sometimes get stressed or just bored. Looking for hidden secrets in PC games or Easter Eggs as they are also called can be fun and a great distraction.
Games like GTA5, Fallout 4, Far Cry 4, Red Dead Redemption have hundreds.
I went looking for beauty in nature. Walking along a river bank one hears faint noises, stand awhile and listen quietly, wee critters emerge and go about their business.
Nothing in the world can draw you away from the carefree feeling nature provides.
Smoke Pot, it really helps
Try to reduce social media, it can be very bad for your mental health.
Go to bed earlier and get up really early and go to the gym, or if that isn’t an option do home workouts, exercise releases huge amounts of natural highs called endorphins which boost serotonin levels (a neurotransmitter which can lift you out of depression)
Also, cut down drastically on sugar, or anything with artificial sweetener in it, they may taste good but act like a bad drug in the brain and severely alter cognitive function especially in developing teenagers who have to not only study hard and take difficult life choices, but also have the anxiety and uncertainty of transition from childhood to adulthood which can be confusing and frightening.
Avoid smoking dope, it is well known to calm people down, but equally well known for creating paranoia, depression and possibly schizophrenia with long term use.
If you feel trapped, or at your wits end do not try to handle things yourself, your mind can and will play tricks on you it’s evolutionary psychology, it might push you to extreme self harm, seek help, this is not weakness, there are thousands of health professionals who can help you and want to help you.
Ultimately we have to be responsible for ourselves, but you don’t have to go through it alone.
Be physically active, engage with your friends using all the safety protocols, take a walk on the next sunny day with your cellphone and photograph the beauty you see surrounding you. I personally immerse myself in reading helping my imagination to wander into a healthy fantasy world. Hope this helps. All of us here share the dislocation this world has brought upon us, and we are all suffering with you. Stay safe my new friend. Steve
Zany you should be ashamed of yourself
If I can I seek professional help. If that is not an option is there anyone you feel secure enough to talk over your feelings? I wish you the best.
I usually say "keep active", that's my kick starter, but it sounds like you are fully engaged in life as it is. I think the virus and resulting restrictions/worries have everybody in some inner turmoil and just add to any worries/stresses we may have, but with the vaccines arrival, that will get better! Any friends close enough to just sit down and share your worries with? Sometimes just airing our worries to someone else relieves a bit of tension and takes the edge off?! You're young, enjoy your youth, plenty of time to let things worry you later in life!
Better be careful. Anthony Michael will bully the absolute fuck out of you and call you a loser. Relentlessly. With no mercy.
