Now, here's the thing. I want these movies to have a good story and explicit sex scenes, However, I don't want porn. Does that make sense? "Boy Undone" and "Under Water" comes to mind, but even Under Water is bordering on porn were it not for the "almost" story. However, I really very much don't want to watch hairy, bald, dumpy old men sweating all over the place like in I Want Your Love or Shortbus, or Stranger by the Lake. These movies are heading in the right direction, but no wonder straights don't want to watch gay themed movies.


Why is it in any good gay film when it comes to sex it's always bad lighting or the sex is done in red lighting? Why are straight mainstream films like Ken Park so in your face with well lit and clear sex scenes, but not gay movies?

"Something Like Summer" is a wonderful gay movie (and book), the sex is there but it's not explicit.

YouTube has a bunch of gay/LGBT themed movies but don't expect to see weiners. Though one did slip past their censors where a member of a swim team was masturbated by another member while in the pool and they did show a close up of his dick ejaculate under water. I wondered how that got past. 10 to 1 it was deleted or that scene was edited out.

Maybe "Brokeback Mountain"?    Except it's so fucking sad and devastating.    But, yes, there needs to be more pioneering uplifting gay movies as you speak of...unfortunately I'm afraid it will take work to come up with too many of those.    Off hand I'm not sure...
