We have lost so much in so short a time
“There is no literature or poetry in this White House.
No music.
No Kennedy Center award celebrations.
There are no pets in this White House.
No loyal man’s best friend. No Socks the family cat.
No kids’ science fairs.
No times when this president takes off his blue suit-red tie uniform and becomes human, except when he puts on his white shirt-khaki pants uniform and hides from Americans to play golf.
There are no images of the first family enjoying themselves together in a moment of relaxation.
No Obamas on the beach in Hawaii moments, or Bushes fishing in Kennebunkport, no Reagans on horseback, no Kennedys playing touch football on the Cape.
I was thinking the other day of the summer when George H couldn’t catch a fish and all the grandkids made signs and counted the fish-less days.
And somehow, even if you didn’t even like GHB, you got caught up in the joy of a family that loved each other and had fun.
Where did that country go?
Where did all of the fun and joy and expressions of love and happiness go?
We used to be a country that did the ice bucket challenge and raised millions for charity.
We used to have a president that calmed and soothed the nation instead dividing it.
And a First Lady that planted a garden instead of ripping one out.
We are rudderless and joyless.
We have lost the cultural aspects of society that make America great.
We have lost our mojo, our fun, our happiness.
The cheering on of others. Gone.
The shared experiences of humanity that makes it all worth it. Gone.
The challenges AND the triumphs that we shared and celebrated.
The unique can-do spirit Americans have always been known for. Gone.
We have lost so much in so short a time."

I could give a fart about what's going on at the Kennedy center or what literature people are reading in the Lincoln bedroom. I care that we had massive economic expansion (prior to global pandemic) with reversal gains in manufacturing jobs, strong wage growth, historically low unemployment (especially for blacks), enterprise zones in the inner cities, america is the #1 producer of energy and we are net energy independent, better emissions than under Paris climate, better trade deails, replacement of NAFTA with USMCA. Human spaceflight progress. Reduction in business harming regulations and better business climate. Tax cuts which really helpped me and my small business. Also, destruciton of ISIS, Israel/arab relations, 90% reduction in illegal immigration flows across the border (the wall), rapid COVID-19 response w/ supplies & rapid generation of 4 vaccines due in a couple months. Oh, international effort to decriminalize homosexuality around the globe.
Yep, I'm voting to reelect for sure.
well said...
The best thing we can do right now is to resoundingly beat Trump at the polls in November. Engage and encourage all your friends to vote. Vote early as possible especially if you are voting by mail. Nobody knows what kind of shenanigans Trump will try to pulloff in the last 10 days before 10/3. Trump is a very deparate man at this point. He has suggested that military personal, armed militial members and his goonish followers will be present at polling stations to harass citizen voters.
I put one of these signs on my front lawn. Just snarky enough to get some attention, and yet the local populace here for the most part, don't, I presume, "get" it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CMH76DY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Tallyho, you think this first lady is hot? You must think Rupaul is the sexest woman alive.
well at least this first lady is hot!.the last three looked like dog shit...lol
A long list of whining and complaining.
Take a look at the President’s office, specifically his desk-the Resolute Desk. He keeps it empty, tidy, no distractions, no set dressing to please this group, or that group or a bunch of ingrates.
The President knows his job is the American people, and his administration has achieved so much, in fact were it not for the Chinese unleashing a devastating virus to destabilise the Western economy, the United States would have had a booming economy and overwhelming prosperity by the time of this year’s election.
....But of course all the corrupt politicians didn’t want that.
They want things to go back to the way they were.
TRUMP 2020
thats a list marsh but we want fun joy fist bumps not lies smears name calling amateur dick tator king .. and buy the way somesome who focusus on saving the planet and global warming were all fucked if it gets too hot and dont you just love a squid minding its own business in the see while trump just spouts crap - enouf said peas mop
Great post and so true, Now sit back and waid for the snide and sarcastic remarks from the usual humdrum heartless, greedy, racist, not if it costs me a dime suspects to attack your blog. I've learned to use my peripheral vision to recognize their avatars and scroll past them unread.
He is hands down one of the worst Americans that has ever lived. He has devoured the character of so many.
Awesome quote. Nicely sums up the current presidency. Hope for change!
not a mobster a DC comic villain...no heart no soul just tude.
where`s all the fun gone ?
Not at all! Luckily this person does not dictate the past, present, or future! The kids are grown up and have their own families so she is being manipulative just to begin with to condemn President Trump. Her blind rabid hatred for this guy who has done nothing wrong makes it impossible for her to see all of the joy and greatest he has brought forth. Too bad so sad. Her loss. And anyone who choose to believe this nonsense and deceit. Next!
Wow. Thanks for sharing. So true. Instead we got a lying cheating mobster.
