Z~Z, Best of luck with the surgery.....follow doc's instructions for post-op time, and you'll be fine. Hugs and LUCK,man. Justin T.
I had that exact surgery about 18 months ago. Three vertebrae in my lumber region, hope that's the right place anyway. My lower back. I fell on ice and things started getting steadily worse until after three days my right leg was dragging. Went to the ER who referred me to an oothopedicsurgeona few days later, two days later they operated for9 hours.
Yes it was scary and yes rehab is a bitch but do as much as you can as soon as you can, listen to the rehab folks.
A guy who had surgery two weeks earlier than me didn't work at rehab and fell behind. I'm great now other than an occasional sore lower back after a long day.
Hope it goes well for ya, drop a msg if ya want.
That's no fun. I wish you the best with the procedure. Keep that sense of humor and you should breeze through it. Keep us posted.
Should you worry?
I have a friend who had a cadaver discs replace his. It worked for a while. He still has trouble finding a comfortable position to sleep in only after a few months of relief. No bad effects from the surgery itself at all. He even went home same day which surprised the fuck out of me. Ignore the veiled message below. Good luck!! Hope it helps if you do get the surgery.
Wow, guys! Thank you all! You all are so sweet! I've been speaking to some people (family) and they are trying to keep me positive.
