Still learning some things but I enjoy it in some ways sometimes. I'm afraid I have gotten lazy with it over time. It's one of the good things about this quarantine is that it is forcing me to do more cooking at home instead of eating out so much. I'm afraid doing that kept me a hundred pounds over weight (I've lost thirty five of that so far) and ended up with a herniated disc in my back and had back surgery late last year. The surgery went alright but I was bedridden for five months before that. It was an unbelievable nightmare. I'm still facing it with some recover for the rest of the year and I still have FOUR more bulging discs in my back. I'm SO depressed and scared over all of that. :(
At first I thought there was a typo in the title of this blog. LOL
I taught myself beginning at age 9. I was hungry and fried up a couple of sunny side up eggs and just took off from there. I was fortunate in that my mom could cook anything and relied heavily on spices, wine, garlic and onions. I never left the kitchen and always wanted to help. My grandmother was a fantastic "Grandma down home on the farm type cook", she cooked differently then my mom. I had two of the best teachers with two separate trains of thought. I have few fears in the kitchen and love creating fusion dishes. However, my name is not Bobby Flay, I DO NOT want, like or appreciate an audience. The kitchen is my domain, when I'm in it, you're not! Also I do my best swearing in the kitchen.
