sorry to interrupt your serious conversation, just had to add that joke; but, on the subject of circumcision, being an American and circumcised, I remember in high school gym class showers seeing only one boy with a foreskin...he was cute (like most boys that age) but comparing his penis to those of all the other boys, I kind of like the look of a circumcised penis over the uncut ones, though aesthetics is a pretty poor reason to have this procedure done; however, having it done to a baby is probably a lot less dangerous than having it done as an adult, plus there are medical advantages, from what I've read...so, if I ever have a male child, I'd probably opt to have him circumcised.
I am against mutilation of the penis unless on medical grounds. At quite an age (late 60s) my father had to be circumcised because his penis became gangrenous after a botched hernia operation. He hated it.
Some foreskins are ugly; some circumcisions look good. They are both the exceptions. One of the worst explanations I have heard is that 'it will make you grow up like your father.'

Agree entirely with Man2Man. An irreversible mutilation should not be inflicted on someone who is too young to object. Unless you have an extremely tight foreskin, there is no good medical or hygiene reason for circumcision.
There are bunches of reasons why circumcision is carried out and many differing opinions about it.
I do wish though that unless there is a serious medical condition present, surgery should only be carried out when the guy who's junk it is can make the decision.
