It's an offensive, hateful and illiterate word.
Both terms if said to you as a personal comment/remark are offensive and derogatory. Anyone saying them to you when said in a way to abuse, should be dealt with and not be allowed to just get away with saying it. There are many words connected to race and religion that society/employers would come down on you like a ton of bricks if you said them, so why should these words be any different.
Plus in the UK, there are still folk that do use the word, going for a 'fag' as meaning a cigarette, but they do that out of an old habit when not thinking, as when they do think before speaking they say going for a 'cig'. So folk are aware of the offensive terms these words can mean.
In UK a fagget meaning a cigarette or a bundle of sticks.
I am ok with referral of being a fag or fagget.
Disgusting and degrading phrase IMO. I hate it.
Am I am a gay man accept me as I as well as my fellow brothers.
In the 1970's many of us were working hard to get society to not call us Fags, Faggot, Cocksucker or Queer, but rather "Gay". Then as gay rights movement progressed, the term LGBT was used, then that became LGBTQueer community. So today the connotation is different. Today I do not mind being called Fag, Faggot, or Queer.
I remember when I was young that I would shield my mouth when I was sucking a cock, because I was ashamed to have anyone see me with a cock in my mouth. Over the years I began to accept myself and even take pride in being Gay or a Cocksucker.
I feel that it is a term of disrespect or hate.
I prefer Sir or Lord or high ruler, king, your majesty, but soz faggot isn't for me . Same for words like ' mate' or ' dear' , or ' little brother' .
If I get mad. I'll call someone a Faggot. Really pisses off str8 people!
Fag Or faggot Well I'm Not A Cigarette Or A Bundle of Stix. These Words have always sent me off the deep end. I don't Like Either.
Only when my girlfriend is pegging me :)
No, I do not like to be called fag or faggot.
Nor do I like being referred to as "girl".
I'm fine with "queer", though, it sums me up well I think (I'm a cock-sucker, who's not into anal and totally masculine, and >90% into guys) and anyway I self-identify as "queer" not "gay".
