I subscribe to the old saying "Don't shit where you eat". The workplace is not the right place to cruise. First of all, if your wishful thinking is wrong, he will tell everyone there that you tried to hit on him and who knows what kind of adverse consequence could arise from that. Or worse, he could file a sexual harassment or hostile working environment complaint against you and you'd be bum rushed out the door. Before you move on him, you better have some pretty convincing signals from him that he might feel the same about you.
