As most of my little friends are of a species that don't live as long as yours, I have to go through the pain many times. You know? That's one thing that never gets easier. I tell myself "no more", and go through life without them. For a couple of months. Then I get another litter of babies and start all over again. It's agony when they go, but much worse without them. You have my deepest sympathy. Luck and Health to you and your family.

I'm sorry for your loss Pets become a part of our lives that humans can't fill because they never disappoint us and are always unconditionally there when we need a friend.

Very sorry to hear that BL. I've had a dog and/or a cat for most of my life; have lost several, and it always deeply sucks. For me, one thing I've found that helps, even though it doesn't minimize the loss, and seems like it should be "too soon" to do, is to go to a shelter and rescue a new pet that really needs a home, and might be killed if I didn't take him or her in, almost immediately. Somehow starting to focus on and learning to love a new pet that really needs it, makes me feel a little better, and I still think of my old buddy as I'm getting to know my new one. I still miss each pet I've lost.
My sincere condolences. I've had three dogs and two cats. They become part of the family. It's not easy when they leave us.
