CL and Backpage were a way to save rental persons from being victimized by serial killers.  They were safety nets that street corners don't provide.  Congress has helped murder thousands w/o these safety nets.

Well i was shocked to see that CL was shut down.  Even though most of the time that I had contact with anyone on CL nothing panned out.  I think most of the people on it just wanted to live out their inner desire for penis, but they were always afraid to act.   a quick jerk off while e-mailing.  

Of course i did find guys that would wana have some fun.   Also had a few looking for their first bj. all over 18 of course

I must admit to never having heard of Craig's List until today and reading this message, nor any similar sorts of websites. Seems a weird way of hooking up if you ask me!

But it sounds like the usual Commie globalist plan to abolish the 1st amendment so America can be overrun; notice how it is always dressed up as "humanitarian"? a public good? I bet someone used the usual line about "protecting the children" haha!

As a strict constitutional conservative I am sick to death of this shit; this and the Omnibus spending bill is making me considering voting for the Libertarian party in November.

Let's be clear here.  The law makes it so that Craigslist can be liable for damages from activities from their personals.  It did not outlaw personals.  Craigslist elected to remove that part of its service to protect itself.

I'm believing there will be some court challenges to this law, especially from sites like Craigslist and others that provide "personals" to their users.  The law itself doesn't outlaw personals, only makes the host site criminally and civilly liable if anyone uses the service for illegal activity; in this case it was intended to thwart "sex trafficking", but the ramifications were greater than just "sex trafficking" personals.  I understand Craigslist being leery of the liability issues, at least until things are further sorted out. However, it seems a lot like the push several years ago to make gun makers liable if I bought one of their products and then used it to commit a crime or kill someone--that was found to be improper, and maybe the courts will see the lack of common sense in the application of this law.  Not much different than making 100 Pipers liable if I drink too much and kill someone, or General Motors liable if I recklessly drive my suburban into a crowd and kill people.  It's ironic that so many bills before congress really need passed to keep things functioning and our representatives can't work together (I'm blaming both sides here), yet this apparently flew through like Nick's gay ducks heading for Cancun for the winter with almost unanimous support??

You mean you folks may have to *shock* actually meet other guys IN PERSON???? - like, in a social setting? interact with humans??

If you start meeting other dudes in person it'll just be like the 1990s all over again, you could end up (and I base this on my own experiences of the 1990s) getting laid every day for weeks and weeks at a time, rather than merely watching porn films of other guys doing it haha!

You could make some friends!

You could forge bonds which never break with other dudes you hit it off with!

You could (and this is real heretic stuff) actually have a conversation with another gay guy; shocking, I know.

the Craiglist personals still work in other countries (Canada for example).... maybe in time Craigslist will find a way for the USA to get them back 

I'd like to say I don't believe this, but it's right in my face. This is clearly discriminatory and this is why we need a solid voice to fight this sort of thing. If they can do this with CL, whose next?

Yep thanks to bill that  US congress passed . The bill is  just passed HR 1865, "FOSTA" . The bill is supposed to fight sex trafficking. What I get and support ,but looks to be shutting down sites Like CL personals .
