Eye contact or not?
Do you all like it when the performers make eye contact with the camera or not? I do like it. I remember...and I can't remember who or where it was...but some owner of some straight porn magazine (I think it was in the 1980's MAYBE the 1990's) tried to out do their competitors by doing some form of porn where the performers either did or did not look at the camera and said it was such a big deal because it indicated something. I think that the fantasy was either broken by the performer looking at the camera or it was enhanced...I can't remember. It would be awesome if someone could find the video clip of this guy at some press conference announcing this. BUT I wonder do you all like it when the performer does this or not. I can't really decide but I think it I like it when they DO look at the camera. I think it still kind of intimate. Any thoughts?
Infinitely prefer solo vids where there's intense eye contact with the camera.
I think primarily it's a question of intent; that is, did the director instruct the model to focus on the camera or did the model keep stealing glances at the cameraman while he was in the middle of a threesome? The latter would take me out of the story, which is usually thinner than Olive Oyl's diaphragm in the first place. That happens most often with a new or self-conscious performer and it plays hell with the fantasy if we're meant to be sneaking a peek at someone who isn't supposed to realize we're there. When it's intended, I agree that the model essentially seducing the camera can be very.... um, uplifting at times.
