Ugh
Well, I just lost my job. I went to work as usual Wednesday morning, and about 1030am was called up to the GM's office. There was his secretary and my supervisor sitting at a conference table. When I sat down, I was handed a termination form and told my job position was being eliminated. I was stunned. Ever since I graduated high school 2 years ago I had worked at this car dealership. And now this! She told me that business was slowing down, as it always did during the fall and winter months, but thisjQuery18207340021180438538_1477073251644?? They both said they were very sorry. So I got up and left stunned. My co-workers were shocked and didn't wanna believe it. I stayed for an hour saying goodbye to everyone and heard from them to "keep your chin up". As soon as I got home, I went online to apply for unemployment and food assistance. I'm still in shock...........friends promised to let me know if they know of any job openings. I'm trying to stay positive, but at times its damn hard to. Oh well, life goes on.........can't let this get me down.
Tyler, I am truely sorry to hear of your bad luck. You said that your job position was being eliminated. Well I hope you don't take that too personally because that is NOT YOUR fault. The reason I say that is from personal experience, I had the exact same thing happen at a job and then all of a sudden things happen that we have NO control over and I was out of work. I can no longer work because of the the early onset of health reasons. But with support from family and a good friend network I was able to dodge any depression or bad health. My advice to you my friend is to keep your mind busy and keep staying positive. Good Luck........Steve

Good for you reaching out. come to Seattle, lots of jobs here bud.
So sorry to hear this news. Happened twice to me and in the end worked out well. Contacts that you have made in any way can help so follow up any old friendships/contacts that you have made
Hope that you find something soon. If I was there I would give you a big long hug.

I've been there myself, and it's no fun. Polish your resume and if you're not on Linkedin then sign up. It's a great way to get connected as you loo for a new job. Finding a new job is your job now. Start working at it the same time every day, just like you showed up for work the same time every day at your old job and plan to put in a set number of hours every day. If you're lucky you'll find something soon, but if you don't try not to get too bummed out. It's hard, I know, but as others have said keeping a positive attitude is so important. I'll be thinking about you.
Mike
Good luck for your job search Tyler. Aim high.
OMG Tyler, I feel so bad! You'll find another job. I'll send prayers up to help your luck. I wish I knew someone out there. You're so cute and have such a big ....you could get a job as a stripper.
i am very sorry to hear that my friend. i believe everything happens for a reason. stay strong.
Thanks all for the support and well wishes..............thank god my last paycheck was a little bigger than what I expected. Should hear from the unemployment office this week, but I wont lay around for that. $250 a week isnt much, it will help, but im gonna hit the pavement Monday so wish me luck!
Tyler: that sucks for sure my friend, but you know what? Your friends are right: polish up that resume, keep your chin high, and go apply tomorrow at the fuckin Maserati dealership. This was nothing more than opportunity knocking at your back door...
sending my good wishes to you in finding a job, love, Scott

Hey there Tyler, I been there 3 times before however my reason were more worst then you. My company was ether bought out and forced layoffs to employees because of the merge or they closed down. At one point when I first joined GBT in 2012 I was off work for 1 year at that point then was off another year just trying to find work. It maybe hard but I ended up taking a janitor job until I found something I liked well it happened at my previous job that I was at and got promoted to team lead in there ware house which was really awesome. I kind of wish they never closed down because 3 good friends that I talk to today was from there and glad to work with them however they moved on and I was the only one left before they closed the door. If you need someone to talk to message me we can talk on skype, or gmail hang outs or even if you want on the GBT chat room
One tongue-in-cheek(s) way to view it: Whereas I'm a die-hard slacker(work-a-phobic), ur now a (in)voluntary one. Collect the bennies, and explore on-line income sources, like Chaturbate, etc. More fun than the 8-5 grind. ;-D
Fantastic attitude if I may say.. It's a bolt out of the blue but you say this can't get me down and life goes on..
I had the same thing happen but was lucky to leave with 10,000 so that really helped..
Best of luck for finding a new job.. I'm proud of you for your great attitude.. :-)
Sorry to hear, dude. Sucks that they didn't give you any notice or any severance.
Hang in there, though! Sometimes a kick out is a kick up!
Sorry to hear this....stay focused and like you said don't let this get you down....just get out there and start looking...good luck
"...can't let this get me down."
That's about the best one can do in your situation. Take heart & hang in there. I see from your home page that you're in Las Vegas. I have to think that there's be something in the city for you, even if it's temporary and maybe not to you're liking. Still and all, what you're going through is difficult and I'm sorry you've experienced the loss of your job. Take care.
