A day i will not foget and a day that changed the world.

I was only 10 yo when that happened and what i remember is that we were at home  in front of  TV and my Mom had lots of tears and i heard my Dad said "" the world just changed and will never be the same ""..I will never forget that day. Never.

I remember this day as if it was yesterday. I was at work, and the building I worked in is the tallest building west of New York before Chicago. The panic that occurred here as every building in downtown Cleveland was ordered to be evacuated. thousands standing on the street, everyone checking phones trying to figure out how to get home, trying find out what was going on.  I lived just 30 blocks from my office. It took six hours to get there because of the traffic. And I know the emotions felt that day here were nothing like those in NYC, DC and PA. I mourn those that lost their lives both in the attack and the aftermath. And I deeply fear the impact it has had on our way of life, our view of freedom, our view of difference between people. May we never forget, but may we never let this horrible act determine how we shall live, love and care.

Mychal Judge, O.F.M. (aka Michael Fallon Judge, May 11, 1933 – September 11, 2001), was a Franciscan friar and Catholic priest who served as a chaplain to the New York City Fire Department. It was while serving in that capacity that he was killed, becoming the first certified fatality of the September 11, 2001 attacks. In addition to this, he openly lived his life as a gay man,

Thank you for this post. I was only a little kid so I do not remember the event itself. For any one on GBT that knew someone that passed away or was involved in anyway my thoughts are with you today.

Idk if many of you were  aware of this but the sad truth is a handful of children died in the 9/11 attacks. It is ironic that all the children on the planes were going to 1 of 2 places: a scholastic academic convention, or disney land.

1. Asia Cottom (age 11)
2. Bernard Curtis II (age 11)
3. Rodney Dickens (age 11)
4. David Branhorst-Gamboa (2nd youngest age 2-3)
5. Christine Lee Hanson (youngest age 2)
6. Juliana Valentine McCourt (age 4)
7. some reports said a 17yr old died in the WTC but did not list his name.
Rip to all those who lost their lives. May we never forget them. May we hold our children close, love them so that children all over the world will grow up and have love towards their fellow man.

President Obama held a moment of silence in the White House at 08:46 local time (12:46 GMT), the time the first plane hit the World Trade Center. He will later speak at an event at the Pentagon.

Neither presidential candidate spoke at the New York event, where the names of the victims were read out.

Close to 3,000 people died when planes crashed into the towers, as well as the Pentagon in Washington DC and a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Fifteen of the 19 attackers were Saudi nationals.

An independent panel completed the 9/11 Commission Report a year after the attacks.

The pages were released in July, and showed it was likely the attackers got financial help from people inside Saudi Arabia, but that there was no official Saudi role.

Last week, the US Congress unanimously passed a bill allowing 9/11 victims' families to sue the Saudi government.

But several sections - informally known as "the 28 Pages" - were withheld from the public for 13 years, fuelling speculation about their contents.
