Download Google Chrome. I was having the same problem using Mozilla/Firefox. All the videos play very well using Google Chrome.
I too cannot play any videos, i run an old lap-top with XP and Mozilla Firefox, non play for me, i am reluctant to use my latest laptop, it is too costly to use in the forest.
I don't see any difference at this point. I tried playing a video from over a year ago and it's not loading as quickly as newer videos.
And, once a video has started to load, if I fast forward past the darker gray part of the indicator bar (past the part that has already buffered), the video will restart from the beginning (same behavior that OP has described)
I am using Win XP SP2 FIrefox 48.0.2 with Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0 plug in.
I can deal, though :) Way overdue for a new computer :)

I just tried some videos and they played alright. I am using Win10 with Firefox. However, earlier today and yesterday the videos would not play and would just buffer. I did find that pressing the stop button and pressing the play button again would get the video to start playing.
I can't access any vids, they just don't work on my browser, X.P and Mozilla Firefox are not compatible.
I've been having the same problem with every video. If it doesn't fully load, it won't fast-forward properly, etc.
I thought it might be because I'm on an old computer with XP , although my firefox and flash are up to date.
What I do is just let the video load all the way or don't fast-forward past the part that's already loaded.
One thing that I've also noticed is that very old videos (like those that are usually in the 'related videos' don't load at all - or maybe they load eventually but I don't give them enough time. They definitely don't load as quickly as the newer videos do.
