Why oh why do sites say FRIENDS when the word Friend does not mean Contact. Also there is no Contract that makes people rate your page, they have a choice. It's called Freedom of Choice. Strange this site allows you to "rate" friends. I thought someone could be your friend or not be your friend. How can be someone 2 star rated friend. All too complex for younger generation.
My take on this, during my relatively short time on here, is that people who have inflated number of friends (1000 +) are people who present themselves as young, very sexually active people. When in fact, they don't have a real friend in the world. This is their life and that's very sad. The so called friends they pile up, are merely people who want something from them. Friendship is not one of those things. I have probably never rated one my 170 friends. Because who really cares. Who cares what I think of them? I regularly communicate with a handful of my friends. These guys are not imaginary. They support me 100% and have told me that. I have a active life outside of GBT. I feel sorry for the people that don't. Especially the younger guys. You can read in this blog everyday of those people who have attempted suicide or basically suffering from depression. Some even post their problems on here to gain sympathy from other people who are just like them. Just my take. Have a great day.

What PHPeter said is harsh but true. This entire friendship / star thing is childish. people go crazy after them. I dont even bother whoever sends me request I accept them knowing for the fact that I will not hear a single word from them.

Not because I don't like or appreciate them, but because, for me, it doesn't have any real meaning. I also didn't understand how important the rating is to other people. Please try not to feel desolate about this.

Wow...someone on the same wave length as me. I don't make friends easily, and my friends list small. Friends mean so, so much to me (everything, actually). I am so interested in my friends and want to know everything about them. Next to family, the most important people are my friends, yet every time I try to get to know someone on here, all I get is pictures posted on my wall. (Not for one minute saying I don't appreciate them cause I do, it's just that if you look at their other friends, they get to same pic). I take my time and personalize every pic and message that I send to my "friends" because they mean that much to me. I don't come here for the porn because, to be honest, I can see better porn on other sites. I come here just for the "friends?"
As far as I can tell, the number of stars you have is pretty meaningless. Don't get disturbed about it. In actuality, I know little about the many friends I have. I wish we would communicate with each other once in a while - that would be more meaningful to me than a lot of stars.
I agree, Robbie. I would say that at least 90% of those who send friend requests take the stars they are given but never give stars in return. I'm beginning to wonder whether I should bother giving stars as very few are ever reciprocated.
