NZ Homosexual Law Reform Bill
So it's 2.20am Saturday, and I just got home from a midnight bus driving job and thought I would post this...
Today marks the 30th anniversary of the implementation of the Homosexual Law Reform Bill 1986. This gave LGBT people in New Zealand the right to not be discriminated against for sexual preferences or sexual orientation. It also made it legal for consenting persons of same sex to have sex from age 16.
So proud to be living in such a progressive society were we now have openly gay politicians, high court judges and town and district Councillors, and even a transgender politician who also has held office as a town mayor. Even in my small rural township we have openly gay business men and women who are accepted as part of our diverse community.
Sheit! New Zealand was even the first country in the world to give women the to right to vote
Good blog bro makes us kiwis feel proud
