Pink Pistols: LGBT community trains to defend themselves. I am NOT going to be a victim...how about you?
A grassroots group called the "Pink Pistols" is teaching gays and lesbians how to defend themselves with firearms.
The Washington Post reports that the Pennsylvania-based organization — the motto of which is "Pick on Someone Your Own Caliber" — encourages members of the LGBT community to carry concealed weapons.
Founder Tom Nelson, a 71-year-old retiree who packs a .40-caliber Glock, says he's seen a dramatic uptick in interest since 49 people were shot dead at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, this month. The group now has 45 chapters nationwide.
We've been very good as a community with candlelight vigils, but not so good at doing what it takes to prevent them from happening," Nelson told The Washington Post.
Members of the group are trained by certified instructors in the proper use of firearms at local gun ranges.
The group's website states: "We teach queers to shoot. Then we teach others that we have done so. Armed queers don't get bashed.
Tell me, PHPeter, Which do the people of Nice, France think is the most dangerous? A gay concealed carry permit holder, having gone thru a gun safety protection course, or the Muslim radical that mowed down dozens of innocent people with a truck? I' m sorry but try again! I drove by club Pulse the other day for the first time since the massacre by the Muslim terrorist and even I was surprised at my reaction...I broke down and cried...very sad at what happened....even the passengers in my car had the same reaction as I did! Very sad now...Thanks Swiftjohn for bringing some sanity to the discussion.
I own a gun and have a concealed carry permit. And I always carry it where I'm legally allowed to. Unfortunately, it wouldn't have done me any good in Orlando since you can't legally carry a gun in a bar. But anywhere else, I'm packing. Random violence seems to be more common place and can happen anywhere and at anytime. I refuse to be a victim. The best way to stop a gay basher with a gun is a gay with a gun. We all need to fight back. Docility only invites more abuse.
CRAZY ... BRAIN DEAD ... GUN LOVING ... BLOOD-THIRSTY ... GULLIBLE ... RELIGIOUS ... TERRORIST ... just a few descriptions of the most OBNOXIOUS society on this planet ...... The USA !

The second amendment to the US constitution is there to ensure the first! It is the second amandment for a reason! Our founding fathers recognized the need for the people (individuals) to be able to rise up AGAINST a potential overreaching natIonal government. They had first hand experience with that. That is one of the major reasons I support the second amendment as well as being able to secure my own safety as well as that of my friends. I am thinking of obtaining a powerful (able to burn thru steel) laser (be the first on your block!) for the same reason. As Han Solo said "there's nothing like having a good blaster at your side!" A good shotgun should also be a part of your arsenal. I had a friend that had a 50 caliber Barrett rifle that could hit targets within a 1 mile radius with extreme accuracy--and do serious damage too!
Most of the Pink Pistols are on some libertarian/ancap b.s., I do advise that we get what we need to protect ourselves but they're not the one...
No Handguns allowed Downunder but you can guy a 12 gauge or an SKS for under $300, whatz not to like? Concealed carry not an option unless you're a Triad or some other crim..
Nick 18, the last time I looked, you can't outrun a 223 caliber bullet traveling at over 1200 feet per second! We are responsible for our own security. Call for a pizza, the police, or the fire dept. and see who arrives first! #OrlandoUnited. Thanks for allowing me to share....Alex
Why ? I live in a country where it's very hard to get a gun, but If I lived in the US, or Canada I would probably own one, and I would go to a gun club. I wouldn't go to a pink gun club, I don't understand this, why do gay people need special groups for regular things.
Also I hate the term Queer.
Sounds great. (There are several reasons I should object, being a pacifist who abhors guns and violence. But in concept I like this!)
