@mad640...did you lifeguard nude? they couldn't pay me to do that job! i'd volunteer! 

I live on the island of Gran Canaria were most of the beaches are "swimwear optional" (and at least 6 of the gay nightclubs are 'Dress code: naked") ... I have noticed that males are far more likely to get naked than females ... perhaps it's some sort of animal display behaviour !?  

Even though our family was fortunate enough to have a swimming pool in our backyard, as a preteen in the late 1960s I occasionally ventured off with friends to the nearby Boys Club, to swim naked in their Olympic size pool. It was quite an education, seeing firsthand that Mr. Jefferson was wrong about all men being "created equal."

Way, way back, in those interesting days of the 60s, if you were in grades 7 through 9 (12 to 14) and wished to swim on a hot day in the high-school pool, you did so in the buff since our gym shorts (those really tight and short shorts seldom seen any more) would bleed dye into the pool.  The high school pool was located within a walled enclosure and lined with bleachers on 2 ½ sides.  No one on the outside could see inside and the bleachers were such that an enterprising kid or two could find their way below and do heaven-knows-what beneath the bench seats, and there always seemed to be a willing high schooler who would quietly volunteer to tutor we youngsters in a variety of strokes and breath-control techniques from beneath the bleachers.

Once in the 10th grade (15), if you joined the swim team, you spent your first entire semester swimming needed, and had to prove to the coach you had earned your speedos.  Non-swim team classes would use the pool on overly hot days, but once again, gym shorts bled so no shorts permitted.  I made 2 "special" friends during hot days spent in the pool rather than running around the stadium track; one became a little fuck buddy and the other a real cutie in my grade who had a reputation with the girls at the nearby religion-based school (he'd even manage to get caught in the act with a girl so as to maintain his macho rep) but he was an avid cum lover and scared to death his dad, a violent homophobic, would suspect he was a "queer" (no such term as Gay back then), so when we began meeting, it was on the deep, down low, which was fine with me at first, but his paranoia (remember that in those days we were committing felonies each time we enjoyed one another) began to wear me out.

Woman's lib certainly ruined a whole lot of male/male fun in and out of school.   

I'd sit in the bleachers and watch them practice their back-strokes.....mental picture : yes!

I wouldn’t have a problem with boys swimming in the nude.

In the Chicago public high schools, up until about 1980, all boys in P.E. swam in the nude. The boys lined up in the shower hallway after "getting wet". Those that were circumcised went straight to the pool. Those that where not had to pull back the foreskin to show the teacher that they were keeping it clean.. As a member of the swimming team, I was excused from all study halls and went to the pool to lifeguard for the classes. I also volunteered during my lunch, depending on who was in the class. The practice ended in 1980 when swim classes went co-ed.

Was just posted on tumblr and it didn't have a source..Maybe it was from an old family nudist colony  that had a school.

It would sure be easy to pick out your favorite swimmer!  I wonder if those boys who are hung better than others have a problem with "drag" in the water of having a bigger rudder underneath them.
