Well, said. I was a Director (just below a GM or VP) in a very stressful job employing over 1000 people, where the only things that mattered to management was production, making money for the higher-ups and the bonuses these self-centered dicks and dicklesses would earn. It got so bad I was censured and later "laid off" due to my willingness to listen to employees and my ability to praise good work and council rather than berate those who seemed to slack off (likely they were really tired . . . or fed up), therefore, I and my subordinate managers were well liked and considered a threat to the status quo. Most large and middling companies have a degree of this uncaring, rude and demeaning attitude toward their employees, but the a--holes with this outfit were unbelievable! Treat your people like assets and let 'em know how much you - the company - appreciates them, and production plus morale will climb. It's only common sense!
I willingly went back into the entertainment industry where you only had to deal with hyper-egoed, bi-polar celebrities and over stimulated and aggressive fans! What a relief.
