Jayden, this plane was featured on the TV news just last night where I live. It had a close up pic of all the solar panels on the wings. I could not believe it when I saw it. Great story and I am kinda glad that someone shared it again

Foreground ~ The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate strait, the one-mile-wide (1.6 km), three-mile-long (4.8 km) channel between San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The structure links the American city of San Francisco, California – the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula – to Marin County, carrying both U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 1 across the strait. The bridge is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California, and the United States. It has been declared one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers. The Frommers travel guide describes the Golden Gate Bridge as "possibly the most beautiful, certainly the most photographed, bridge in the world." It opened in 1937 and was, until 1964, the longest suspension bridge main span in the world, at 4,200 feet (1,300 m).

Beautiful! This plane was designed in switzerland (in my university, little moment of pride ^^) so we hear a lot about it here. Really quite an impressive achievement in my opinion. Though, with that said, knowing how fragile, tremendously expensive and cumbersome to fly this plane is, in my opinion electrical vehicles still have a lot of room for improvement. I'm all for ecological means of transportation and I think this achievement is a great leap forward, however I'm afraid some people may use the fact that Solar Impulse is still far from being a 'usable' plane for transportation to argue that ecological means of transportation aren't feasible in general (we already hear a lot of people saying that in switzerland unfortunately). Anyway, great picture and great news nonetheless!
