My BF's family had 3 chickens. Not that hard to take care of, but they laid way more eggs than the family could possibly eat.

Not hard at all.Once you have a cage..Sure you have to clean the shit out from time to time but its worth it ..A smaller cage is good because if u have lots of grass u can move it around so the grass dont get muddy. With the eggs its better to get hens that lay more than average and u can do that research..The breed i mean.Really they are great pets but dont let them get in your garden if theres some plants u want to keep healthy .Fresh eggs are great for breakfast..As you know Joelie loved his chickens and had plenty of eggs

Save an abandoned animal by adopting a puppy or kitten at your local humane shelter Scotty. You will have a good friend that will make you much happier than chickens will. :D

It is OK to have chickens as long as you are not a chicken hawk.

I live in a city that permits residents to have chickens. You'd need to check the laws for where you live. Here they are not allowed to roam freely around the yard, but have to be kept in a chicken coop. That is also for their protection as raccoons, cats and dogs eat them. Yes, chickens do make a sound like bock, bock, bock.
