Who needs terrorists when we have the NRA and the Republican Party?

Today we had another mass shooting - this time in California with 14 dead and I believe another 17 injured.  Every attempt to do something about this has been blocked by the NRA and the Republicans.  Even though I'm a Republican myself, I have to wonder when my party will come to its senses and become willing to support gun control.

Both parties are at fault. One thing that would help is if the media wouldn't keep taking about it and stop speculating. Within minutes of the shooting. CNN said it was three white men and possibly white supremacists. I'm sure the gov't wished it was white supremacists so riots would break out. It's sick!

The thing is that there needs to be more of an effort by our elected officials to find some effective solutions, whether it is better gun control laws or something else. Obama is constantly making suggestions and it seems the Republican party is only concerned with blocking him as opposed to coming to some unilateral decisions. Obstructionism should not be rewarded and it would be really nice if people would get incensed about this.

bluto some of your politicians do not want gun control or checks therefore a terrorist can ligitimately buy a gun so you deal with the carnage you deal with it - no fault but your own - your problem - folks died just because you dont like legislation - your world

Lax gun laws? Are you kidding? California has the toughest gun laws in the country and the ugly guns are banned. Moe gun laws are not the answer.

how did they get the weapons ? nra and republican ideology - so your isis sleeper cells can buy guns with no checks - you should be worried - a massive stock pile of weapons legally bought because of lax checks and gun laws - well there are lots of ostriches in the us and someones making money

@ShaneV AR-15 only fires 600 rounds per minute and anyway these two terrorists were manufacturing pipe-bombs as well. Should plumbing parts also be banned?

OK Bluto, I watched the first 10 minutes of that video which is 2hrs+45minutes long. I'm not going to waste another 2 and a half hours watching the rest. I'm sure it is full of very convincing facts that prove that Sandy Hook was all an elaborate hoax. It reminds me of all the 911 hoax videos that prove our own government staged that tragedy when George W was running the show. I guess that movie "Wag the Dog" started a whole new way of running the country. Oh well, not much I can do about it, glad I only have a few more decades to live on this planet. Looks like the 2 political parties will take turns creating drama to sway public opinions. While they are doing that I plan on living my life quietly and peacefully, occasionally observing the show. I'm just glad that I've never had to use a gun the defend my life, I try not to put myself in situations that make people want to kill me, so far I've been pretty good at that.

Who know what, you believe what you want and I'll believe what I want, you think your right and I think I'm right but the fact is, if all these firearms weren't so freely available there would be a lot of people still alive today.

senceless discussion. All the bad guys know how to get weapons. This will never Change . We have strict regulations in Germany about all Kind of guns - but there is no difference to USA. The criminals have everything !

@johnE but if those 2 didn't have firearms to start with nobody else would have needed firearms to protect themselves and all 14 of them would still be alive today just like in Sandy Hook if that guy hadn't been able to get his hands on a gun all of those kids and teachers would be alive today just like every one else that has been killed in a mass shooting if the gun men didn't have access to firearms they wouldn't have been able to commit these horrible crimes. I know your 2nd amendment says you have the right to be able to defend yourself but does it say you have to use an assault rifle that can fire 1000 rounds a minute ???

Mental health really is the root of the problem. Millions of sane, emotionally stable people own guns, I consider myself to be one of them. It is only the ones with mental or severe emotional problems that go off the deep end and commit senseless killings.

whats the point of a police force or military if you let every citizen arm themselves - at least the military know how to respect and handle weapens - if the citizens of the us are armed to protect themselves why not ship volunteers from florida california texas kansas new jersey to syria to tackle isis ? because ....
