I like Bernie, and think he has some good, common-sense ideas. Even if he doesn't get selected to run, people will be exposed to a different point of view. I voted Green in the last election for Jill Stein, and I knew she didn't have much of a chance, but, I felt that I'd done the right thing.

I agree with a lot of what you said, Funky. Yes, who knows how many decades this stretches back, but there's always a major difference between what a candidate says & does 1) when he/she runs for office, and 2) when he/she wins that office. (President Obama has disappointed me that way, for example, the most serious disappointment is that Guantánamo Bay's concentration camp is STILL OPEN. And his winning the Nobel Peace Prize turned out to be not only very premature, but based on his pre-election talk and not his post-election acts.) Sanders to a lot of us now has the "best talk"; but let's see how he'd "walk the walk".

I'm like George Carlin. I don't feel no type of way about any of these politicians, even ones with good intentions like Bernie (though he's upheld the Fed after deciding not to help with the Audit the Fed bill and didn't see any issue with Israel attacking Palestine). No matter what they tell you, once they get elected, they do whatever the elite tells them to. Obama wouldn't have gotten through increasing NSA surveillance and fast tracking trade bills without it. There is no person of the people when it comes to politicians on either side. Then again, I'm quite anarchistic in my views so I feel my voice on this is a standout from anyone else who feel this man would bring any kind of hope.

I'm not sure about worried...as far as fundraising, which of course could change quickly and dramatically with a superPAC, he's raised 15m to her 45m, before the race has even really begun. Since money talks, it's hard to see him coming out as the candidate barring some surprise.

Bernie now has the Clinton camp worried.

He is my first choice for President, he is the most sensible candidate so far. The first time I ever voted, it was for Ross Perrot.

Count me in for Bernie Sanders too! (He's the first "cola" candidate [I see Rep.s & Dem.s as Coke vs. Pepsi] I've liked in awhile.)

I don't know why he voted for the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act which protects gun manufacturers, distributors from being sued. He has voted sensibly on a number of other gun control issues, though. Go figure. http://ontheissues.org/Bernie_Sanders.htm#Gun_Control I just spilled a cup of tea on my mouse pad. Damn.

"In reality, as Stern parenthetically conceded at the end of that overwrought paragraph, Sanders supports plenty of gun control measures, including intrusive background checks and sweeping federal bans on 'assault weapons,'" Reason's Damon Root points out."

I like him too. If he can manage to push Hillary to the left, as he's already done, that's only going to be good news for liberals/leftists. However I do disagree with his stance on gun rights, which is pro.
