I agree, sadly some think we are required to live up to THEIR expectations. Just be yourself, and live your live towards your goals and standards.

Some people are able to live with that attitude, I wish that everybody could get away with it. Sadly, many people would be jeopardizing their jobs and possibly their well-being, depending on their surroundings.

@marshmont. I agree. It's easy when you're isolated in school or college, but it can be a different story at work--when you join the "real world." Although I'm happy I'm gay, I feel no need to just say fuck consequences and blast my homosexuality from the rooftops because "why should I care what other people think of me?" While good in theory and/or principle, this is somewhat of an unenlightened/isolationsist viewpoint of a self-centered individual who hasn't grown up yet and hasn't been in the world.
