<p>How do you feel when you meet a guy that is super hot, super nice and just all around a good catch but he soon reveals that he is HIV pos but undetectable on medication?</p>

First of all... great post. I know that I would be put off at first. I would try not to let my fear stop what could be the love of my life. For some of us who have had a few partners you just have to assume that everyone is positive. because they are young does not mean they are negative. All to often we meet a hot guy fall in love and hope everyone is clean. KNOW YOUR STATUS. ITS OFTEN A SCARY THING TO TEST BUT YOU MUST AND INSIST THAT YOU AND your PARTNER IS TESTED. Sorry for the caps. I guess the follow up question is what happens when you find out your lover is pos+. do you stay or go... you will find out the depth of your love and who you really are as a person. I don't know if there is a good answer or bad answer as to what you do. But know your status.

In all honesty, I would sit down with the guy in question and talk about it calmly. After all... no point having an argument about it.

If a relationship did start up, I would ask the guy if he would mind us both seeing a doctor together to see what precautions we should be taking. Then, we would go home, talk about it and think it over to decide where to go from there.

well i would be very cautious. it would not stop me from being his friend at all but i would be very worried about things getting out of hand by accident. but someone that is knowing of it would probably have a high self discipline on that

My Uncle who I never met died of HIV/AIDS. They dont talk about that but he lived with "a partner" died at age 57 AIDS. Never met him.

I once had a fling for a few weeks with a guy who is HIV+; it is no big deal, I am still here, still negative.

Thank him for his honesty. Learn more about each other. And always be honest with him about your feelings. And let things develop as the may. HIV is no longer a death sentence. And you can have a fulfilling loving life with another person who is HIV negative. It will take openness and strength from you.

first of all, i would admire his honesty. then continue to get to know him and research hiv positive carriers. i do know hiv carriers can have sexual activity and know the precautions. that's a tough one man. if nothing else, he might be worthy of a great friendship.
