Whats important when you meet someone, is it their looks or do you prefer a nice personality. But the best thing I think is when you strike it off straight away, with that feeling you have known them for years.

Looks are ok, but personality, is when someone shares your sense of humor, or love is important. That first eye contact....

Looks aren't the deal maker, personality is....and I agree with tooluser that looks improve with time and a personality that engages me. That being said, as a former fatty, a person has to be weight and height proportional...not a a body builder, but with a BMI that is in the normal range and probably a little closer to the bottom of the scale. When I was fat...my BMI was 41.1...and now 32 year later, I have been holding at 23. And for you that do not know the categories they are BMI Categories:

Looks are what get me to cross the room, personality is what keeps me coming back. Looks-wise it's usually one particular thing, like "wow, what a sexy walk" or "holy moley what a waist!" (I really go for skinny long haired guys) rather than movie-star grade looks. Anyway, I find that the more I like a guy the better looking he gets.

Looks are weird for me because it definitely varies. I can appreciate a toned physique, but it's not make or break for me. Eyes really sell me. Personality is by far the most important aspect. I really need to be able to talk to the person. If they can share in and compliment my odd, sarcastic humor, then I believe they're a winner.
