Requesting Friendship

I just have to get some insight on proper etiquette,when a member request friendship,Is it taboo to at least go to the members page that you requested friendship and say hey thanks...how are you,stop by and chat?

Is it frowned upon to at least get some kind of response when a member initiates contact?

I don't expect to impose a member to chat via skype or any other means of communication but if you request friendship just say Hello... Glad to meet ya :)

I always check their page, gives info on what they like. I thank friends who accept my friendship and write on there walls to say I would be glad to be friends if they sent me a request. Just like I would with real life people. Oh, I also love giving them 5 stars

it is cool if you set a standard for accepting friends..there is no rules..it is up to you..

I was wondering about this myself, I have accepted and requested friends but didn't want to intrude if that's not how things work here. I answer almost anything someone sends me unless it's off the wall kind of stuff like exchanging young pics or like that. I have had some really good conversations with others here though so I know it works.

i try to make bein a friend easy...five cents a minute and you have me as a friend..if you are out of money..i will lend you a few minutes at ten cents a minute...if big tony shows up to collect...oh boy..talk to you soon ..friends..

i will always thank for a req and almost always accept. i feel guilty that i can not communicate with most people (as the constraints of time). perhaps it's time to do some house cleaning..

Great Blog time2jo . I spend alot of time canceling friendships that requested mine but i never hear from then ever again. I think if your accepted as a friend its only polite to return to that new friend and thank him for accepting and start of a conversation.Far Too many members ask for friendship but then never make contact again.

I always check a persons wall and stuff before I accept a request. But I don't always send them a message when I request them. It's really just up to you how you go about it. Once I'm friends I do hit up their wall and say hi and drop by from time to time and chat here and sometimes on skype or other messengers and stuff. It's up to you.
