A City full of prejudice
I am 25 gay guy who live in HK.
HK people cannot accept other things that are unusual. They don't like to talk and live in their world, such as gay guys must be sissy or must be weird, and some of them are really believe the equation "Gay=AIDS", so there are no AIDS between man and woman. Fortunately there are not much people think that, but unfortunately those idiots are all in one or two association, and these association are affecting HK government of their unfair and stupid theory, the shit is those guys are known as "highly educated"!
Most of the HK people are prejudicing gay guys, or I should say that they prejudicing everything "they" don't like.
Even the law are not protecting people against prejudice.
I feeling that the freedom in HK is fading away.
Sometimes I feel cannot breath in HK... even the air is like a jail.

Mostly your story is true in my aspect, I don't live there but visited your "country" plenty of times. Also familiar with gay life. Don't really know how long you've been living in HongKong but in my experience it has changed a lot in past 6-7 years. It's not open or self-confessed as my city but still you can find for example barc, clubs, organizations both from HongKong island and Kowloon site. The city's style has never been like "open", even time before China "redeemed" it from British "conquest"...:) Anyway, I think it'll take years or decades to change many things over there. Just try to continue living there and if you feel like air is running out, you know that you have plenty of other cities just 2-3 hours flight behind to visit for example weekends. Take care >BSB
