lagayable - dont think thats right; a netural accent is the receivd pronounciation (how 'posh' brits talk) an any varyation on that is a regional accent (such as sth african).

Okay lets get real here people. To get an unbiased approach to who's accent is superior we must get the facts straight. and the facts remain and the experts agree that the most understandable and neutral accent on the FACE of the earth is the english South African accent, distantly followed by New Zealand. So on a completely neutral scientifically proven factually expressed research assesment, they come to the conclusion that South African english accents are the world wide best... Therefore im amazing and IM SO GREAT! - you guys not so much.

within america the dialects vary greatly. boston,ny,georgia,texas,chicago,,,i like southern accents. chicago is my least fav....

I love the accents of all English speakers. I find the all to be delightful. What I find even more interesting, is how words have different meanings amongst English speakers...the simplest being an American chip is an English crisp. I see that RD has put the link to the common words that we Yanks don't just get....

Never tire of listening to a Glaswegian accent. Aussie prime Minister would have to be THE most annoying accent EVER!! American's speek too slow for me, and why do so many of them have to drop the H in herb???? oh... and learn to spell english words correctly - e.g. Color has a U before the R (just a suggestion, not looking to stir up the shit)

I don't mind the aussie accent because it is sometimes similar to my own, but they can overdo it to the point where it is annoying. I don't think Americans perfected anything either, the american southern accent is arguably one of the most annoying things i have ever heard. The normal american accent can be annoying as well.

I never get tired of that rough british accent like you hear on jeremy kyle (besides the parts that nobody can understand) but the posh accent is painful to hear, but that could just be the horrible english cooking and design shows that pollute my tv that have put me off.

I don't speak english... you all know that. My friends in Vietnam try to speak english but I named it Vinglish.so strange. And in Sri Lanka they speak Sringlish, I think so. Most funniest moments are listening Vinglish and Sringlish after couple of drinks. And mixed up :)
