There is a possibility that within the next two years or so Gay Marriage will become legal in the UK,civil partnerships between gays having been legal fo a number of years

I was wondering what the views are of members of GBT.I would be interested to know what the position is in other countries

The dumbest thing about countries like Aussie that dont have gay marriage or civil union is this - they recognise and respect other countries laws! gay nzers or brits in civil unions who move to Aussie find the Aussies recognise and respect the the civil union - respect our laws - but have an outright ban on their own gay people entering into them hahaha weird

New Zealand looks set to legalise gay Marriage. Personally though, I'm more of the opinion that Civil Partnerships should be given exactly the same rights and powers of marriage. Marriage is a religous recognition. What about those who aren't religous and don't choose "marriage"? there are alot of Hetro people who don't choose marriage and so they miss out on these rights and powers as well.

A civil partnership is good enough for me ...I think it us unnecessarily provocative to those who object to insist on calling what is virtually the same thing "marriage".... the christian church should not be opposed to gay relationships and should bless them if asked to do so but if they do not want to call them "marriage" then that is fair enough.

I live in the US, SUPPOSED to be the land of freedom till they started to play with our constitution many years ago. Now our freedoms are ruled my a mojority and not our cdonstitution. US will probably be the last country to change toward freedom. Says a lot when the 'supposed to be' leader of the free world has more citizens in jail, per capita than ANY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. FREEDOM?????? Many move to other states of countriews to have civil partnerships, domestic parnerships or marriage. A SAD SAD SITUATION.
