To all my US and Canadian friends..i hope that u all have a great LABOUR DAY on Monday..we in the UK don't celebrate labour day it's just a normal working day..

labor (labour) day to me means the unofficial last day of summer in the US, i look forward to it every year...i hate heat and HUMIDITY, but always thanks and how is the new living situation going? bri

Thanks for the holiday shout out....This holiday reminds me of my family's ties to the US auto industry, the long hours on the assembly line...the celebration of the contributions of the American and Canadian labour movement is a fitting way to begin the end of summer and the beginning of autumn.

I worked and lived in India for 10 years, so I got used to all of the British ways of spelling things and quite a bit of British word differences. I even learned how to drive on the left side of the road (please notice that I didn't do what most Americans do and say the wrong side of the road).

It's LABOR in the US..LABOUR in Canada..LABOUR in the UK..we tend to use the U eg: COLOUR.FAVOUR where in the US they drop the U here endeth the english lesson!!

hi billybuddy..nice of u to respond..yes we have just had a bank holiday (27th Aug) we also had an extra day for our queens jubilee celebration (60 years on the throne) tacked onto our May bank holiday weekend
so on the whole we don't do so bad for holidays hear in the UK..i much prefer greggs cheese pasties!!

Thanks buddy I think it be fun but I already been having long weekends with not working so it make no difference to me. Just wish I was working but that somethings I am looking forward too.
