yes david, i know this story of our late Queen Mother. ~ where are those like Churchill today? so many things me uncle is showing to me of diamond jubilee and i should have been there. i love country of birth but have blood of the isles in me and heritage and history that is humbling to me. need i say really, how much affection i have for HRH George VI if only because i know his suffering in speech?! i love all that i know of me own fam back to 1510 and only before last trip to england do i learn i am named not only as third william from father and grandfather, but william given firstly to honor William III known also as King Billy who grants us land over400 years ago for loyalty to him and defense of Church of England and Protestantism. for this our motto is still today 'Libertatem amicitiam retinebis et fidem' ~ Freedom and friendship will keep the faith

I knew you would celebrate with me.

Let me share something with you. During the darkest days of World War 2, after Dunkirk and Hitler preparing to invade the United Kindom, some politicians urged the Royal Family to evacuate to Canada.
When this was suggested to HM Queen Elizabeth (our current Queens mother RIP) said "I will not leave without the Princesses, the King will not leave without me and I will not leave without the King"

With Winston Churchill saying "we shall never surrender" and he meant it. He had sandbags and a machine gun installed installed in the House of Commons for him to make a final stand.

I am proud to have Her Majesty as my Queen

I send a birthday card to HM The Queen when the her jubilee started. I have naught but affection, loyalty and respect for her and in awe of her decades of service to england and the world. I'm a US citizen but of Scottish ancestory. I appreciate the Royal Family for what they do and stand for. They are the 'face' of a GREAT NATION and GREATER PROPLE. So in respect an honor of "HRH',
