The Gay Lisp?

Anyone have a opinion on the gay lisp? Why do some people have it and some dont? I'm gay and dont have a lisp. But I have friends that have it and they swear they arn't faking it. What do you think?

surely some guys "camp" it up. there are guys i would meet at bars who act gay. when they are on the job or away from the gay scene could drop the act. now the stigma of being gay is melting. in the past being gay was a crime.

In some cases (note I said SOME. not ALL), it's a bit of an affectation like adopting certain 'feminine' mannerisms and exaggerated gestures. How consciously that's done is another question - it may be a case of adopting behavior/mannerisms that you think and/or have been told reflect the way gay guys act. IMO, this seems more common with the older generation - the lines defining sexuality have become much less rigid now.

Yes mike1945....I have met several males with this strange undertone in their voices and the majority are all married with a female and even have children. I think from my experience that you can tell the difference when you watch the behaviour of a person and then when you percept movements in his body lanuage like the female hip emphasizes and all of it's charactaristic emotions which go with it and the gay lisp which tops it, then we are talking about a gay personality.
