while out one day, you are suprised to see your mother holding hands with someone who is clearly her lover. she notices you, runs to you, and begs you not to say anything to your father. how would you respond? what would you do if your father later told you that he was going crazy because he kept thinking your mother was having an affair yet knew it was just his imagination?

that is a tough one - do you get involved and have one parent be mad for you saying something or one parent mad you didn't say something.... you are almost stuck either way... I agree to get it off your chest and don't let them blame you for their problems

Why don't you have a heart-to-heart with your Mom. Get your feelings off your chest and waite for her response. If all turns out positive, no need to tell Dad. If it continues bite your lip and just keep it to your self but let Mom know of your displeasure. If you tell Dad, well, what ever happens, he'll always remember WHO told him. Mom and Dad may displace their hurt and anger and put it on YOU. Walk softly but you need to let your Mom know, for your own sake. Just know, It's NOT your fault.
